Sleeping with the eyes open

Never get sick of shopping. People always ask me where do I buy my clothes? How do I store them? How come I don't wear the same thing twice?

To be honest, I think I could survive a year without doing laundry. Even if I have to change my clothes everyday without washing any I will still have something clean to wear. That is how severe my addiction to shopping is. I wouldn't say that I must shop but I couldn't stand not buying something that I found I like. May not be something that I need but it's always something that I want at that time. Most of the items are impulsive buys which I end up leaving them in my closet untouched. These items still have tags on - I think the resell value is there because the tag is still on hehe.

But being a working adult, I simply do not have the time to shop. The industry I'm in is so demanding and competitive I always end up pulling my hair at work if it's not my clients' hair. Otherwise I'll sleep with my eyes open like this...

Now, where do I get my clothes from then? Online of course! It's so convenient nowadays with online boutiques just a click away. However, due to quality issues I'd prefer the overseas online boutiques especially the ones with free international shipping. I have been visiting ASOS and TOBI. ASOS is UK based with international presence where TOBI is based in the US. They both offer free international shipping and so far I am very happy with the quality of clothes and services. However, due to the free international standard shipping, the items only arrive after a month or so. What's worse is that it is not advisable to order above RM500 per parcel to avoid custom checks and additional tax payment upon receiving the goods.

The problem with online shopping is that you keep on adding items to your shopping cart and before you even know it, you have like 46475474543525239 items in it. It's such a chore to go through one by one trying to remove something out of it to suit your budget. I mean it is almost impossible to convince yourself that you do not need that another pair of skinny jeans or another piece of crop top - I mean afterall, they are in your shopping cart for a reason! Trust me, this is harder than convincing your boyfriend/husband to watch Gossip Girls with you on a Sunday night. What's worse is that they are updating with new arrivals every few days! Being broke sucks. I am still waiting for my parcel from ASOS to arrive as we speak.

Chinese wedding dinners

Imagine the toughest time planning for the wedding of your life. All the time and effort spent in making the day memorable only to be ruined by "karaoke sessions". All the aunties and uncles should know your place. This is someone's wedding not your wedding anniversary. If you think your singing skill is comparable to those of American Idols, Asian Wave or The Voice then by all means, please show case that during your birthday, Chinese New Year or even funerals. Not during people's wedding!!! I would be so fucking pissed off if people were to do this at my wedding - thank god my friends and relatives were sensible enough.

So bored and annoyed at the wedding that I had to do what has to be done...taking selfies from different angles.

Age is just a number

I have another 30mins before my birthday ends. I'm officially a year wiser and hopefully not physically older. Been trying my very best not to let myself remember my birthday but people around me just have their ways to remind me of it. Despite feeling indifferent about my age, I'm actually very glad that people around me care *feeling blessed*

My birthday celebration started with my manager getting a cheesecake for me at work. This year will mark my last year with the company and will also be the last birthday celebrated in our good ol'pantry. I'll miss my fellow colleagues. You guys are the reason I'm going to work everyday :)

Cheese tart from Shakespeare Patisserie at Subang Jaya

The actual celebration went down to a surprise brunch at Ben's KLCC after our weekly jogging session with the bunch. It was a simple and unexpected yet enjoyable birthday brunch. I truly enjoy such simple and intimate surprise over the crazy drunken birthday parties where you wake up the next day not remembering half of it. I guess I've matured. But it's also odd to celebrate your birthday the way I had it. Jogging session for a birthday? Lol. Nevertheless, we had fun.

Took a drive to our new house after the jog to check on the defects. Nothing has been done. It is actually very annoying that Uda property is taking such darn long time to fix what are needed to be fixed. We are not satisfied with the finishing of the house. It's as though they have rushed through the entire development to meet deadlines without taking into account that people actually paid for these houses. Never trust this developer ever again. The bungalows and semi-d's are worse we were told.

Maybe it's due to the frustration and recent stress, I slept through the entire afternoon. Woke up just in time for dinner and I was starving!!! We went for Thai food and it's yummy! I hope my throat is ok though with all the spiciness.

Ended with cake and presents from the family.

Lip and cheek set from Benefit. Love the Bene Tint!

Baby has been treating me like a princess the whole day and I feel so blessed to have him in my life. I couldn't ask for anything more than this. I believe that it is only with him that I can say that my life is perfect. I love you...

Unfortunate

It's been a long day for me. Woke up late for work because I did not charge my phone before I went to bed last night. As a result, my alarm did not ring - battery went flat. It's a miracle that I woke up automatically at 7.45am as if I know it's time to go to work. I'm amazed :)

Then realized that my car petrol went flat as well. Everyone went crazy at the petrol station the night before because our beloved government had decided to increase the gas price to RM2.10 perlitre from 12am onwards. I took the liberty not to join the crowd last night knowing the petrol indicator was pointing at Empty. A smart and not so smart move. The news reported that there were people who queued for as long as 45minutes just to fill petrol. And for the "smart" people like myself, we ended up paying extra 20cents perlitre today because of our stubbornness. Hooray for not wasting time but boo to my purse :(

Yes I was very late. Sue me. I was almost reaching office and was queueing at the toll booth when this Volvo decided to kiss the back of my car. Very smart of you old man. The first instance is to check if it's legit before getting off the car. Since there were so many people around I guess it was save to get down. The uncle went "why did you stop abruptly?!!!!" whoa uncle! I was stopping there for god knows how long. Probably longer than your pathetic life. Anyways he then admitted it was his fault as he was looking for small change. We negotiated and came to an agreeable amount as compensation for the scratches on my new car. Now my baby needs a facelift :(

Yes it's that Volvo :(

As if it's not enough, I arrived at work to a bunch of difficult and problematic cases to solve. Calls kept pouring in and I barely had time to breathe. Oh dear God please save my life. Went to lunch and got stucked in the restaurant for 3 hours due to heavy downpour. My work at the office left unattended for 3 hours. Fuck my life.

September is supposed to be a good month for moi. Why is it not so far?! I am not buying the whatever saying about making lemonade when life gives you lemon. If I were given lemon I'm gonna grab them and throw them at the people who make my life miserable. Anyhow, September has just begun. I'm gonna make sure to enjoy every bit of it.

note to self: don't forget to smile because shit happens.

oh found this on my car windscreen today after work. Stalker much?

Older men

They are just so sexy isn't it? No, don't get me wrong. Not all older men are attractive. I'm talking about Robert Downey Jr type of older men. There's something charismatic about them that tickles my fancy. And it's so effortless. Argghhhh..I blame it all on Iron Man.

On another note, I wouldn't say the same for the Chinese actors. The older they are, the more sleazy they look. Their tendency to want to look cool and the fact that they have to try so hard drives me nuts. Maybe that's why I've stopped watching Triumph in the Skies 2. There's nothing cool about a bunch of wannabes trying to speak with an accent when they can barely utter a word with proper pronunciation. Can these people stop? Ok, I have strayed but it all boils down to one thing - I'm old :(

What's not to like about him?
